James Gunter has enjoyed drawing since he was a child in Virginia. He began displaying his drawings and paintings at art shows when he lived in Pennsylvania, and now lives in Utah.
James has won awards for his paintings and drawings at regional plein air competitions and art shows in Utah and Wyoming.
Whether painting plein air landscapes in oil, or portraits and figures in pastel, the aim of James' art is to express and explore the peace and grace that can be found in both people and the landscape.
